Collateral Damage

He’s been trying to understand what is wrong with his brain
He thinks of going outside and it’s always the same
He stares out the window and sees life in its frame…
There’s nothing to salvage it’s collateral damage.

He’s house-bound he’s captured he stares at the walls
The isolation strangles and nobody calls
He’s tied up with questions the simplest being why
He can’t leave his house no matter how hard he’ll try.

He needs to believe in escape
He needs to know there can be a break
Too many things in life cause tarnage…
Collateral damage.

He’s inside a world he knows way far too well
The people that know him his neighbours can tell
He’s locked in his prison that might just be hell…
He’s getting to know he’s collateral damage.
